Red Fruits Crumble

Ingredients:

  • 2kg frozen red fruits
  • 100g plain flour
  • 60g light butter, cubed
  • 4 tablespoons SPLENDA® Granulated
  • 80g ground almonds
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 knob of margarine, for greasing

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas Mark 4)
  2. Defrost fruits in a strainer for 3 hours in advance
  3. Drain them well
  4. Mix flour, SPLENDA® Granulated, ground almonds and cinnamon in a bowl
  5. Add the butter
  6. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients with fingertips until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs
  7. Grease a baking dish with the knob of margarine
  8. Place the red fruits in the dish
  9. Pour the crumble mixture over the fruits
  10. Bake for 30 minutes
  11. Serve lukewarm. 

 
Tip:
 Serve with light single cream. You can replace red fruits by several seasonal fruits (apples, pears, peaches, plums). If pastry doesn’t resemble coarse breadcrumbs, add some flour.
